If you've always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. You don't have to be an expert swimmer nor do you have to have had any diving experience.

The Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle. The Open Water Diver course take only three days to complete for a lifetime certification which allows you to dive to 18m, anywhere in the world with a certified buddy.

Your underwater adventures can begin as soon as you want with the SSI Digital Learning program with all the training materials available online. You can learn the information you need at your own pace and then come to Koh Samui to complete the course.

The minimum age to begin the Open Water Course is 10 years old. You also need to be able to swim and tread water comfortably. Please take the online medical questionnaire below to know if you are fit to dive.

About the Course

ACADEMIC SESSIONS

The academic portion of the Open Water Diver program is digital and easily accessed online or offline with the DiveSSI app whenever and wherever you want. The academic section of the SSI Open Water diver course consists of a series of online videos and knowledge review sessions.

POOL SESSIONS

The pool sessions are your next step. Take what you've learned in the academics and apply it in realistic training scenarios in the pool.
Your Instructor will personally fit you for your scuba equipment, so that you become comfortable in you "second skin".

OPEN WATER DIVES

You will complete 4 open water dives and have the chance to experience everything you learned in the pool hands-on. After successful completion of your open water training dives and final exam you will become a Certified Diver.
